Ken Ryalls, PhD
Ken Ryalls is the vice president for academic affairs and dean of the faculty at Mercy College of Ohio. He has been in almost every role in academic affairs, serving as a faculty member, program director, department chair, division chair, dean and VPAA at two different colleges. After his previous position as VPAA he was offered the presidency at The IDEA Center, a nationally recognized nonprofit dedicated to the improvement of teaching and learning in higher education. In that role, Ryalls became nationally recognized as an expert in the fair utilization of student feedback in faculty evaluation and improvement of faculty performance. After eight years of leading IDEA, Ryalls felt a longing to return to academia, where his efforts to further education have a more direct impact.
